Dashcam captures a traffic light failure. On east-west light interval, the southbound green light came on also, dangerously encouraging drivers to go into opposing traffic flow. The yellow light also lit up a bit, but the green was much brighter and at a glance one would assume it was giving a go signal. Police were notified and said they were aware of the malfunction, but didn't dispatch any cops to direct traffic as far as I could tell. This comes after an injury accident some time ago in this vicinity where witnesses on both sides insisted that both lights were green both ways. In that case, one of the dtivers was cited for running a red light, despite them adamantly saying the light was green. A police spokesman stated that a dual green scenario was impossible and that the lights would go to default mode (Red and yellow blinking) in the event of a dual green. Now I have proof that the lights can be green simultaneously. Dashcam ftw.
