Mazey Day midsummer festival

Buy video

Mazey Day is a celebration of midsummer in the town of Penzance, Cornwall in the UK, part of the two week long Golowan ( Feast of St John) festival.

Local artists and schoolchildren make large processional images and parade up & down the high street with the Golowan Band at the front.

Other bands play among the stalls that line the streets, or, as in the case of Falmouth Marine Band, march in the parade dressed as Clowns.

Down by the harbour and Jubilee Pool, the Quay Fair entertains families and more bands play in the marquee.
