Rare and bizarre, but funny, Spotted Hyena behavior
When most people hear the word Hyena, the first image that comes to mind, is that of a sly, evil, bad, stinky and smelly predator. Little do people know that they are also highly social, funny, cute and loving creatures. Hyenas also do display behavior that can be mind boggling to us humans at times. For starters, both male and female have similar looking genitals. Secondly it is very common for Hyenas to sniff and smell each others genitals during a greeting ceremony. Then lastly,as shown in the last part of this video, a definite first for us seeing and taking footage of a Hyena sub adult loving himself so much that he took the whole greeting ceremony to a whole new level.
