"Being a slackliner and seeing pictures of The Old Man of Hoy it was absolutely clear what was missing there!
Alexander Schulz Slackliner was the first one to slack 180m over this beautiful red sandstone stack that was climbed exactly fifty years ago for the first time and is an iconic place for the U.K. climbing scene.
Hats of to Dan Hunt and Thomas Foote for doing the climb! Thanks so much for everybody involved in the project for sailing on the boats, getting all the gear from different places together, carrying, climbing, cooking and having great days on the island of hoy, great team!!!
The team was very conscious of the climbing ethics on the old man - only removable slings were used for the anchor, not a single piece of equipment or rubbish was left behind and the stack was not altered in any way"
