A rare video has emerged from Cape Town, South Africa showing snow falling on Table Mountain.

In the clip, which was filmed from the summit of the city's famous natural landmark, large flakes of snow fall on all sides of the mountian down towards the city which lies beneath.

Snow falls very rarely in Cape Town where the coldest month is June with an average temperature is 13 degrees celsius.

Snowfall does not occur often on the 1086m ASL summit of Table Mountain, so to be standing atop the mountains summit at the moment snow started falling was an incredible moment! The snow falls occurred at 12:49pm. The temperature plummeted around this time, and was finger numbing cold.
