Security camera footage has emerged from China showing a drunk man fall into a lift shaft after trying to bash down the doors.

In the clip, which was filmed in Changsha, Hunan Province on July 20, the man shoulder charges the doors to the lift and when nothing happens, he tries again.

On the second attempt, however, the doors suddenly spring open and he falls through into the lift shaft.

The man was rescued from the 1.5-metre lift shaft after about 20 minutes and he was still drunk, according to local media.

Shocking footage has emerged of an alleged drunk man falling into an elevator shaft after he broke the door down by hitting it in China.

The CCTV video, filmed in Changsha, Hunan Province on July 20, shows the man bumping himself onto the elevator door for twice and falling into it at the second time.

After 20 minutes, the man was rescued from the 1.5-metre-deep shaft and he was still drunk.

Fortunately, he was not injured severely and left hospital already.
