SAVING A SHARK WHILE SNORKELING IN CATALINA.

I still cannot believe this experience. This was easily one of my favorite parts of going to Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California. We were camping in Two Harbors Campground and decided to go snorkeling. I brought my GOPRO with me as always. After about 10 minutes i see a shelf about 20 ft down. I decided to go take a look under and when i did i see this beautiful horned shark. As i continue to look i see the large lure hanging from its lip. this lure was almost half the sharks length. you could tell that the hook had been in there awhile and he looked very skinny. i decided to take action. i have seen and swam with these types of sharks many times but i have never tried to grab a hold of one. After my first attempt was unsuccessful i knew i had to make a second attempt to save the shark. AS i dive down you can see the shark almost stop and front of me as if to almost let me grab him without harming him or me. The 2 horns looked very sharp at such a young age so i did not want to get stuck by them while he also had a large treble hook attached to his lip. Which i did not want to get stuck into me. Once i finally got the shark to the surface getting the hook out was easy. I wanted to bring him back to the rocks so he had some cover and safety from predators incase he was exhausted. had to end it with the epic shark selfie.
Hope you enjoyed watching
