Hilarious video from the Newsflare archive of a US woman recording her workout at home when her elastic resistance band snaps, slapping her full in the face.

The footage, captured on August 16, 2017, shows Laura exercising on her mat while her dog is close by.

Suddenly the bands snap, hitting her in the face, leaving Laura writhing on her exercise mat in pain. "It felt like I got punched in the face," she says.

Even her dog walks over to check on her.

Laura writes: "In the middle of my workout using resistance bands, it snapped right into my face. It felt like I got punched in the face and was less than an inch above my right eye. I laid there for a bit, afraid to look.

"After I realized that my eye was ok and wasn't bleeding, I got up to check it out. Fortunately, it was just turned into a red whip line on my eyelid and under my eyebrow.

Laura has useful advice for anyone planning on exercising in this way.

"From now on, I'm going to check the integrity of my resistance bands before each use. If you notice any holes or worn spots, dispose of them!"
