Miss Tiffany's Universe Ladyboy Beauty Pageant Final
Contestants take part in the Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2017 beauty pageant for Thai transsexuals.
The women - known in the country as ladyboys or kathoeys - compete every year for cash prizes and a car.
Yohshi Rinrada Thurapan, 22, won this year’s competition yesterday (Fri) in Pattaya, Thailand, taking home a Mercedes Benz GLA plus 350,000 baht (8,100gbp) in cash from sponsors and various beauty treatment vouchers.
Kwan Lada Rungroj, 23, came second while Pimpisa Pancharoen, 22, came third.
Yoshi, the winner, said: ‘’This is a very proud day for me. I hope it can be an inspiration for others.
‘’Everybody here is amazing and beautiful. Winning is so very special for me.’'
The Miss Tiffany’s Universe has been running since 1998 and is open to transsexuals between 18 and 25 years old.
Contestants are judged on how beautiful they look and how feminine they come across as.
The show is one of the most popular in the country and receives some 15 millions viewers live on TV.
