A dramatic dashcam video has emerged of a lorry losing a tyre on a highway in the US causing a crash.

The footage, shot on April 26 on I-75 north bound near Clarksville Georgia, shows the loose tyre rolling across the road without hitting any vehicle.

However the driver in front of the filmer's car braked suddenly without leaving time to the filmer to avoid her vehicle.

"The truck on the right in the lead has a set of smoking tires. As we where getting closer we noticed that there were parts falling off the tires and the smoke was getting more intense," the filmer wrote online.

"We moved to the left lane and tried to stay back from the semi. As we get closer to the semi the set of wheels come off the trailer and travels across the freeway."

"After the tires go past the lady in front decided it was a good time to stop in the middle of the freeway," he added.

"We where banged up a little and my dog was scared. The car , Toyota Prius V was totaled."

Will traveling north on I-75 had a semi-truck loose a set of tires from the trailer. The wheels traveled completely across the freeway and didn't hit anyone. However the car in front decided that it was a good time to stop in the middle of the freeway.
