On 5/20/14 at about 9:00pm PST, fire and explosions erupted from a home later determined as being used for a hash oil extraction operation in Puyallup, WA. Dozens of butane canisters caught fire, some being propelled nearly 80 feet away from the site. Police are suggesting that "pounds" of marijuana was used in this batch, with marijuana and butane canisters littering the yard.
Police from nearby Lakewood, WA were called in to assist the local Puyallup PD, as hash oil fires are a relatively new issue to the area.
This story is igniting controversy as Washington State prepares itself to begin the allowance of recreational marijuana after initiative 502 passed last November by popular vote.
