Tapir entering the pool in urban areas again occurred in West Sumatra. On Saturday (September 9) Animal rescue workers in West Sumatra, Indonesia were called out to free a tapir when trapped in fish pond owned by residents at district of Padang Pariaman.

Rescuers give tapir an anesthesia to get tapir out from the fish pond and then pushed it into a large cage.

Rescuer named Winggo say, "this area of town can not have tapir, so this animal may be lost or go home late."

The tapir then transported to the West Sumatra Conservation and Resource Centre (BKSDA) West Sumatra for medical examination by the medical team.

The tapir will recover from its ordeal for a month before being released into its natural habitat.

Tapirs (Tapirus indicus) inhabit jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America, and Southeastern Asia.

Their closest relatives include horses, donkeys, zebras and rhinoceroses.
