Hundreds of baby Hawksbill (Eretmochelys Imbricata) and baby Turtles (Natator Depressus) in captive breeding of 'Turtle Village' were released to the coastal sea of Ujung Island, Nagari Tiku Selatan, Agam District, West Sumatra.

This turtle child is derived from sea turtle eggs purchased by fishermen and breeding for 6 months until hatching.

Head of the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (DKP) of Agam Regency, Ermanto, said "That based on the law on turtle conservation, informed people that taking, stealing, or selling turtle eggs would be jailed for four years and be fined one hundred million rupiah."

Captive breeding and turtle release is aimed at conservation, conserving biological natural resources and preserving the ecosystem.

Once released into the ocean, these turtles will return to where they are released in the next 80 to 100 years.
