This is the moment a suspension bridge gives way with tourists on it in central China.

Fifteen tourists were injured in the incident when they fell into the river below after the bridge tipped over on its side, local media said.

The video, shot in Yichang in central Hubei Province on September 7, shows authorities pulling a woman to safety who had been hanging upside down on the side of the bridge.

Several people can be seen in the water below.

Others gingerly make their way to the shore by holding onto the bridge's railings.

According to local reports, the bridge was only meant for local workers to use as part of their commute.

The tourists had ignored a no entry sign, according to reports. Of the 15, only one was seriously hurt but he is not thought to be in danger.

According to local news, the bridge was only for local workers to commute and it had a 'no entry' sign to warn people as well.
