On August 21st, 2017, a new shop opened up in Harajuku, Tokyo - the origin of many a new trend. “HARRY at Harajuku Terrace” is the newest café run by the people who run other “HARRY” hedgehog cafés in Roppongi and Harajuku. This new branch will have not only hedgehogs, but also 3 otters and 8 chinchillas, which you can play with, take pictures with, or feed treats to. Otters, hedgehogs, and chinchillas are becoming more and more popular pets, and lately there have been picture galleries and events featuring them all around Japan. The cost differs depending on the day of the week and age of the customer, but an adult going on a weekday is looking to pay 1,500 yen to interact with the animals for 30 minutes.

The otters and chinchillas are very friendly with humans, so one can imagine that this café will quickly become quite popular, much like the hedgehog cafés before it.
