Scuffles erupted between the anti-austerity demonstrators and the police in the entrance of the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace located in Thessaloniki, Greece, as the demonstrators’ representatives didn’t have the permission to enter the building and meet the Prime Minister as northern Greece office director,Katerina Notopoulou, said. Some of them climbed the building railings effectively!!! The demonstrators, all of them employees in the Greek public hospitals, marched through the city's main boulevards in order to protest against the imposed measures in the public health sector. “Unfortunately 20 radiotherapy treatment machines are in function in our country.
There should be 70 machines in function. We will fight until the proper number of employees is hired in the public hospitals and the radiotherapy machines needed are bought” , the president of the PanHellenic Federation of Employees in the Greek Public Hospitals, Michalis Giannakos,said.
