An emotional video has emerged of a couple listening to their deceased son's heartbeat inside the chest of a nine-year-old girl.

The footage, shot on June 15 in Huntington Beach, California, shows the parents using stethoscopes to hear the strong heartbeat in the girl's body.

Tabitha Smith received Calvin Mossman's heart in 2014 after she underwent three open heart surgeries during the previous years.

"Calvin was able to help many people and the donor network means a lot to all of us," Tabitha's father told Newsflare.
