Dhol Cholom is a renowned dance form of the North East Indian state of Manipur. This traditional dance is also known as ‘Cholom Dance’, ‘Drum Dance’ or ‘Dholak Cholom’. This dance is particularly performed on the colorful spring festival of Holi, also known as Yaosang in the local language. Dhol Cholom is a devotional dance that involves music and dance in its incorporation. The tempo of the dance varies in modulation from beginning softly and ending up in a roaring thundering climax. Dhol is a large drum which has a great significance in most of the dances of the Manipur state.
