Chinese tourists watch tidal bore race up Qiantang River

Video has emerged of tourists in China gathering on the banks of the Qiantang River to see the famous tidal bore.

The video, captured in Jiaxing, southern China's Zhejiang Province on October 6, shows huge waves many metres high lashing the walls behind which onlookers are stood.

Drone video also shows the tidal bore making its way upriver.

Qiantang River tidal bores are thought to be the largest of their kind in the world.
