Heart-warming footage shows a teenage boy born with no legs and and one arm perform a beautiful Thai dance - dressed as a woman.

Umboon Maikhao, 17, suffered a congenital disease in the womb and had stumps instead of lower legs and no left arm - spending years struggling to get around.

But he was captivated 10 years ago when he saw women on TV dancing and he dreamed of doing the same. Umboon learned to sing and tried to copy the graceful moves but would fall over each time.

Now he has ''found himself'' and after years of practice and special training he loves wearing pink dresses while elegantly twisting and turning.

Umboon captivated onlookers when he performed the traditional dance at an event for disabled youngsters in Pattaya, Thailand.

He said: ''I have always dreamed of being on TV. I love to talk and show off. It's my dream to be an actor. I have done singing competitions since I was 10 and saw other girls doing the traditional Thai dancing and I wanted to do it just like them. Because I am disabled it was not easy to move. My teacher, Apisek, helped me to learn. And I learned a lot by watching videos on YouTube. Now I am so happy to be able to dance for people. I would like to make everyone who sees me dance feel happy. I want everyone to see what disabled people are capable of. Please don't look down on us, as we're just like normal people.''

Ryan Barnett, who organised the event with The Redemptorist Foundation for PWDs, said: ''Umboon is an inspiration. He's really come into his own. He doesn't live as a woman but he loves dancing like that.''
