Welsh folk band entertain distressed passengers at Bristol Airport when flights were cancelled

When the Welsh folk band Calan found out that their Easyjet flight to Costa del Folk, a festival in Albufeira, Portugal was cancelled, they decided to cheer themselves and everyone else in the airport up. All flights at Bristol Airport (and flights from many other UK airports) were cancelled on the 10th October 2017 due to an air traffic control strike in France. With no where to go that night, the musicians decided to unpack their instruments, and give an impromptu concert to the distressed and disappointed public at the airport. They were thanked by passengers, airport staff and even the police for entertaining and keeping everyone calm. Bristol airport tweeted "Our teams here appreciated the uplifting spirits this evening...fabulous" Calan may not have made it to their festival, but they certainly put smiles on people's faces, and hopefully they will be invited back to the festival next year. Fingers crossed there won't be any air strikes!
