A teenager screams in pain after slicing off her fingers in an industrial food grinder - while making food for Piranhas.

Hatsuneva Krautan, 14, had been dumping chicken into the machine to make mince meat when it jammed and she tried to pull it out.

But the blender sucked in her fingers and hand - leaving her trapped in pain as she screamed for help.

Paramedics arrived and freed her from the large milling machine which she had been using to make food for fish kept at a farm near her home in Chonburi, Thailand.

She was taken to hospital where surgeons attempted to sew back the tips of two of her fingers and repair the other two which were severely severed.

She said: ‘’It just grabbed my fingers and pulled my hand in. I turned off the machine and pulled them out but when I saw what had happened I nearly fainted. I felt sick.

‘’This was the most painful thing that ever happened to me. I’m lucky it was not worse and I can still use my hand.’'

Volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre said it took them around 15 minutes to release the teenager before she was taken in an ambulance to Banglamung Hospital.

A spokesman said: ‘'Hatsuneva was at the back of her family house as usual, grinding chicken to feed to the fish.

‘’She had an accident her fingers went into the machine. She was smart to quickly turn off the power switch and we were able to get her hand out without causing damage to her.’'
