Flooded river smashes though 30-year-old bridge
Dramatic footage shows tourists walking across a bridge moments before a flooded river breaks it in half.
Heavy rain had lashed the area in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, causing the Mee Ma river to swell and fill with fallen branches.
Boonsri Sriboonma, 62, tourist captured the moment the force of nature became too much for the bridge and it swept it away downstream.
He said: ''This bridge was built in 1986 more than thirty years ago. It had been strong until the present day.
‘'It had been raining heavily, causing huge trees to fall under the bridge, and many bamboo poles to collapse into the river.
''The the bridge was unable to withstand the force of the rapids and it was broken down. I captured it at three o’clock and and forty-eight minutes on October 24, 2017.''
