This wildebeest tried to charge its rescuer after he freed her from a snare in a game reserve in Swaziland.

The video, capture by the rescuer on October 28, shows the wildebeest lying on the floor, its leg caught in a snare.

The rescuer decides to tie the animal's horns to avoid being hit by them when he cuts the snare.

Fortunately, the trap did not dig into the animal's skin meaning it should recover easily.

However, once free, the wildebeest tries to charge the man before running away.

"I knew I had to keep the horns away from me while I worked so I through a loop around her head and held on tight," he told Newsflare.

"The risky part was always going to be getting the rope off her head. I thought that I was going to have to grab the horn and cut the rope with my knife."

"All of a sudden, she was totally free and I was very close. She came at me and I backed of fast. It was very close. I even drew my side arm thinking she was going to come all the way. But she didn’t," he added.
