Slooh Tracking Asteroid 2014 HQ124
Slooh covered The Beast, otherwise known as Near-Earth Asteroid 2014 HQ124, live on June 5th, 2014 - live from Australia with time lapse imagery from Chile. The Beast was discovered on April 23rd, 2014 by NASA's Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) and has a diameter of 325 meters or about 1066 ft. On June 5th, the asteroid was traveling at approximately 31,000 MPH (14 km/s) racing by Earth at a worrisome three lunar distances away.
The footage was compiled from Chile on June 1st, 2014 in preparation for the live show on June 5th.
