The footage, captured in Alberta, Canada, shows 7-year-old Brody smiling as he talks with his mother.
''Our son lost all high frequency hearing,'' the mother later wrote online.
''It was amazing to see his reaction the first time he could hear himself talk, and laugh, not to mention the part when he said he could even hear the air.''
