Timelapse has emerged of a demonstration held on Plaza de Catalunya in Barcelona in favor of the Catalan independence and for the release of political prisoners.

The protest was part of a regionwide strike called by the pro-independence CSC union on Wednesday (November 8) against job insecurity and a central government decree that made it easier for companies to move their legal headquarters away from the region.

According to the Catalan Transit Service, people blocked roads in more than 50 places in the region, including major motorways such as the AP-7 that links France with Catalonia and the rest of Spain, or the A-2, which goes from Barcelona to Madrid.
