Giant Japanese Salamanders in an underwater cave

Buy video

Two Giant Japanese Salamanders climb over each other, trying to get comfortable inside an underwater cave. These two animals were each 3-4 feet long and were filmed in the Gifu Prefecture in Japan.

Giant Japanese Salamanders hold the highest level of protection and regard in Japan (akin to a Bald Eagle in the US) and are the second-largest Salamander species in the world, only marginally smaller than the Chinese variant.

Filmed using a GoPro Hero 4 Black and Light and Motion Gobe lights.
