Girl, 5, gets emotional as she watches John Lewis Christmas ad

A video of a young girl bursting into tears after watching UK retail giant John Lewis' 2017 Christmas advert.

The footage, captured at home in Preston, Lancashire, shows Ella crying uncontrollably, moved by the story of Moz the Monster from this year's advert.

Ella's mother can be heard asking: "Shall we watch it again?"

But tearful Ella replies: "I don't like it."

This year's ad features the story of seven-year-old Joe who plays with Moz the monster at night time.

After being awake all night, Joe falls asleep during the day so his new best friend decides to leave him.

''She feels so sad that the monster has left the little boy and can't watch the ad without dissolving into tears,'' the mother later wrote online.
