N.C.C.C. dispatched a working building fire at the City Billiards 38 North Market Street, Shamokin, Pa with entrapment.
Assistant Chief Bruce Rogers arrived to find the street filled with smoke and a “pretty well advanced fire.” He immediately upgraded the call to 2nd alarm status with confirmed entrapment.
Fire fighters made a quick hit on the flames allowing for Area EMT’s to rescued 2 children followed by their parents from a rear of the 2nd story apartment. Those rescued were treated for smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Fire Fighters evacuated the neighboring apartment building upon arrival as smoke filled the structure.
The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes and the first units were placed back in service after a search to ensure all residents were out of the building.

A PSP fire Marshall shall visit the scene later today to determine the origin.
