Plymouth Hoe looks magical at night The poignant display is lit up at night - and it is breath taking

If you thought the poppy display looked good in the day, wait until you see it at night.

Hundreds of people have already visited the breathtaking exhibition on the Hoe, which features a wave of poppies cascading up the naval memorial.

The poignant display, which officially opened to the public today, is made from ceramic poppies that were originally displayed at the Tower of London in 2014.

Wave is one of two sculptures taken from the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red, where hundreds of thousands of poppies were displayed.

Each flower represents a life lost on the battlefields in the First World War.

Tom Piper, the designer of Poppies: Wave, said it was the first time he and artist Paul Cummins have installed the display on a monument
