Moose calf rescue from lakeside

On May 17, 2015 at 7:06pm, We were fishing out on a lake near field, Ontario, when we saw a cow moose on the shore line. It seemed like it was worried about something because it kept pacing back and forth on the shore line. So we decided to pull up closer for a better view, then we heard a whimpering sound. So we started looking around where the noise was coming from and we spotted a baby moose struggling to get on the land, so we decided it was best to let nature take its coarse by letting the momma help it's youngin, we then moved to the other bay to give her some space to do her job. An hour later we went back to see the progress and the momma was no where to be found but the baby moose was still whimpering and struggling to get on shore. We noticed that the calf was extremely exhausted because the calf started to blow bubbles out of its nose. At that time we figured it was safe to help. We then proceeded to the shore line and once we got close enough we pulled the calf into our boat and we pulled up to the shore line. We then got out of the boat and brought him onto the land where he would be safe. We put him down and as I walked away I looked back to see if he was going to be okay, I could see that he was struggling to stand and his expression on his face was like he was a relief of thank you.
