Remarkable video of a Canadian man rescuing a moose calf stuck on a fence.

The footage, captured on May 1 near Edmonton, shows the mother moose running off after Joel scared her in order to help out the calf with its hind leg twisted in the barbed wires.

Joel takes this opportunity to come close to the calf and manages to free the little one.

After that, mother and calf can be seen running into the forest.

''Good job buddy!,'' says the filmer.

Joel, the good samaritan, later wrote online:

''I was driving and saw the moose calf with its leg caught in the fence so I pulled over as did another driver.''

''I knew the fence was not enough to protect me from the moose cow, so I had to scare her off to get at the moose calf.''

''It took a bit of trying because the wires were tight and my heart was pounding, but I got the calf free and gave it a push to let it know it was not caught anymore.''

''The wire had not cut through the skin so aside from being a little sore, the calf was fine.''

The calf had stepped through the wires but got it's hind leg twisted in 2 of the barbed wires. I knew the fence was not enough to protect me from the moose cow, so I had to scare her off to get at the moose calf. It took a bit of trying because the wires were tight and my heart was pounding, but I got the calf free and gave it a push to let it know it was not caught anymore.
