Zidan a 30-year-old male elephant a few days looked lethargic. The animal inhabitants Kinantan Zoo in Bukittinggi, Indonesia is according to the handler in mourning.

Seen from Zidan's face and eyes as in sadness. Zidan's lackluster condition occurred since Wednesday, September 27, 2017 after his partner Bita a female elephant died.

Although Zidan's body condition healthy but clearly visible Zidan is psychological depressed. The mound of former graveyard of Bita's grave is often kissed, taken, eaten and thrown into her body.

To maintain Zidan's body condition, Kinantan Zoo gives special attention by placing the handler to play with him so as to reduce the time Zidan is alone.

"He was kissing the soil and eating the soil, because maybe he remembered the death of Bita, and he was buried in the new excavation, it seems he was a little sad to feel the loss, usually last night there was no friends, alone," said Muzakir, Thursday 28 September 2017.

Previous Bita female elephant aged 28 years found dead in his cage on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 16:45 p.m. Allegedly dead due to bone arthritis disease.

After the death of Bita, the city government of Bukittinggi felt the need to find a female elephant to accompany Zidan. Bukittinggi Mayor Ramlan Nurmatias said "We will write BKSDA and ask for one female elephant so that our male elephant is not confused itself, this is what we should try first."
