Mount Agung erupts for the second time

Footage of Mount Agung volcano in Bali, Indonesia, which erupted for the second time today - forcing some flights to be cancelled.

Clouds of grey volcanic were seen being spewed some 1,500 metres into the air from the volcano's peak after the eruption at 5.30pm local time.

International airlines including Jetstar and Qantas have cancelled flights to and from the popular tourist destination. Virgin and Dutch airline KLM are also reported to have cancelled flights.

Indonesia's Volcano Observatory Notice for Aviation (VONA) said in an alert: ''Eruption and ash emission is continuing.

''Best estimate of ash-cloud top is around 14,854 FT (4,642m) above sea level, may be higher than what can be observed clearly.

''Ash coud moving to west-southwest. Seismic activity is characterized by low frequency earthquakes.''
