A video has emerged from Harare, Zimbabwe showing the country's former Finance Minister Igantius Chombo walking in leg irons after his arrest on fraud charges.

Chombo, who was charged on Saturday with corruption including an attempt to defraud the central bank in 2004, claims he was kidnapped by armed men during the middle of the night during the operation to oust Robert Mugabe.

Also shown in the video in leg irons are influential Zanu-PF youth leaders Kudzai Chipanga and Innocent Hamandishe.

All three men were in the so-called G40 faction of Zanu-PF which stands accused, along with former First Lady Grace Mugabe, of exerting too much influence over Robert Mugabe.

The faction was also against new President Emmerson Mnangagawa succeeding Mugabe.

Former Finance minister and once powerfull Zanu PF Politiburo member Ignatius Chombo who also haboured ambitions of being president Of Zimbabwe is one of the most prominent personalities who have been arrested on graft charges since Zimbabwe's New dispensation. He faces up to 55 years in jail if convicted. The video was taken at the exit of Harare magistrates court. Also in leg irons is once powerful Zanu PF youth leaders Kudzai Chipanga and Innocent Hamandishe who are also face a slew of charges. All three men were in the so called G40 that wanted a younger generation to takeover power and were opposed to Emmerson Mnangagwa from suceeding Robert Mugabe.
