Royalist Town Crier Tony Appleton proclaims Royal betrothal of Prince Harry and Megan Markle right outside their Kensington Palace love-best following a tip-off that an announcement was imminent on his 'Gold Hotline'.

He said: "I knew it would be imminent, that's why I was outside the Palace bright an early on Monday morning - and shortly after arriving I had confirmation on my Gold Hotline."

Mr Appleton, a true English eccentric, then made the outrageous claim that he later rang up the Royal pair and sang his congratulations while they were enjoying breakfast!

He then made his way to Kensington Palace in the sure and certain hope that his many bold proclamations would be heard by the Prince and his American bride as they walked arm-in-arm in the gardens, so much in love.
