A video has emerged of a singer from a heavy metal band pouring blood from a goat's skull over a horrified audience at a gig in Brooklyn, New York.

Frontman Erik Danielsson from Swedish black metal band Watain brought the skull on to the stage midway through the band's gig at the Brooklyn Bazaar venue on Sunday.

Danielsson then proceeded to scatter the blood contained within the skull onto the audience, before pouring the rest on himself.

According to local media, the act caused several members of the audience to vomit, while others cried for help.

According to the band's website, all three members are devil worshippers.
