About 1,000 Jordanians have demonstrated in Amman in response to US President Donald Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

In video filmed on Thursday evening (December 7) in front of the main mosque in the Hay Nazzal area of the city, Jordanians of Palestinian origin waved flags and chanted after prayers and demanded a third "intifada" (uprising).

In Jordan, about a thousand Jordanians of Palestinian origin have gathered tonight, after the prayer, in response to Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

They represent about half of Jordanian population and are very angry at Trump.

"Palestine is their home, and Jerusalem is their capital," they said.

Following Palestinian factions, they have called for a 3rd intifada ("This is the call from Amman!"), two days before the 1st intifada's anniversary (9 dec 1987). They say they will always fight for Palestine. The footage is taken in the front of the main mosque of Hay Nazzal

En Jordanie, les manifestations se multiplient depuis la déclaration de Donald Trump sur la reconnaissance de Jerusalem comme capitale d’Israël. Dans le quartier palestinien de Hay Nazzal, situé au sud-est d’Amman, un millier de manifestants s’est réuni devant la grande mosquée. Hommes, femmes, enfants se sont retrouvés devant la grande mosquée du quartier. Suivant les directives des factions palestiniennes et notamment du Hamas, ils ont appelé à une 3e intifada, la veille de l’anniversaire de la 1ère intifada de 1987. Ils disent vouloir lancer l’intifada de Jordanie. Près de la moitié de la population jordanienne est d’origine palestinienne.
