This is video from a collapse at a 2nd alarm building fire in Shamokin, Pa

01:34 hrs. Northumberland County Communications Center dispatched an outside investigation for smoke in the area of North 8th and West Independence Street, Shamokin. The first in EMS unit arrived to find fire on the 1st and 3rd division and immediately called for the box alarm to be upgraded. An offensive attack was initiated but quickly turned defensive due to the advanced state of the fire.
When a collapse occurred in on the “A” side it landed on a power lines and a fire hydrant causing it to rupture and uncontrollable flow water for 5 hours until it was deemed safe to approach the hydrant..
An excavator was called in to knock down the exterior walls to protect the public.
The temperature dipped to around 17 degrees causing Fire Chief Jason Zimmerman to request mutual aid tower ladder from Milton over 30 miles away.

The building was built in 1901and was recently purchased and was the home of the Majestic Temple, Mosonic Lodge 255 since 1909, piece of Cake (bakery), accountant Francis Sobotor and Geisinger Home Health and Hospice occupied space within the building.
