Footage shows the aftermath of strong winds and rain that battered the Gulf of Thailand yesterday.

Three-metre-high waves hit the shore along the Hua Sai District of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, southern Thailand.

A trail of destruction including debris, broken trees and damaged houses were left behind.

Eleven provinces in the south of Thailand have been battered by heavy rain and flooding since November 25. Authorities have so far recorded 33 deaths and more than 500,000 damaged homes.
