In the video, captured in Handan City in northern Hebei Province on December 3, a man is sucking his drink through a straw while he focuses on his phone.
His friend sat beside him sneakily moves his straw from the cup into the boiling hotpot and his friend is none the wiser - until he sucks up the hot soup and it scalds him.
