A drunk Danish man is hauled naked from his flat after ranting in his room and annoying neighbours - who tried to perform an exorcism on him.

Henum Morten, 53, began drinking on December 31 but neighbours called police when he began shouting and smashing things inside his apartment in Pattaya, Thailand.

Officers arrived and grappled with the rowdy expat before handcuffing him and using an electricity cord form a fan to tie him up by the legs.

Bizarrely, a neighbour arrived and tried to perform an exorcism by hitting Henum around the face with rosary beads and reciting spells.

The neighbour Tej Lama, 45, had to be held back by police during the commotion as he tried to perform black magic on the Dane.

Tej said: ‘’I could not stand to him in this condition. I just wanted to help. I took off the beads from my wrist and went to hit him with them.

‘’Hit someone full force with the beads and say the spell. They will be calmed down and cured. I am sure. He needed an exorcism.''

Police Colonel Apichai Krobpetch, head of Pattaya Police, said that Henum had been arrested for being drunk and disorderly and held in custody while he sobered up.

Colonel Krobpetch said: ‘’Police received a call at 6pm and arrived quickly. The Danish man bit one officer and tried to attack the others.

‘’The door was broken down and there were many bottles of Thai liquor and broken glass on the floor. The man refused to wear clothes and was struggling.’'
