Josh Smith Rescues Reef Shark

I work on superyachts. We had just docked in the Abacos in the northern part of the Bahamas. While walking around the marina I noticed a “pin” in the corner. Someone told me it was a failed attempt at a string ray attraction. Two giant stingrays about three feet across with there stingers still well attached and the black tip reef shark. It was explained to me that a fisherman threw him in there. At first I just tried catching him by Gand but it didn’t work out. He was stressed, starving, and swimming circles around the perimeter. The next day we were at the bar talking about it and I just couldn’t take it any longer. I went and got a net and some gear. Slowly I creeped into the water. It was filled with rotting bait and fish carcasses. A group of people started to form and helped him locate him in the ever growing murky water filled with stingrays as I tried to net the shark. Fisherman heckled and taunted me as I kept trying. Then it happened. By chance he slipped into the net and went wild. I got him by the tail and started pulling him out. He almost ripped through the net with his sandpaper like skin. I brought him to the dock. The people roared with excitement. I freed him from the net and got a good grasp on him before he could turn and bite me. Telling the fisherman to promptly fuck off and hurried to the beach. The skin of the shark against mine was just like sandpaper. Thrashing around without a clue that freedom was steps away. We danced for a second almost slipping out of my arms. The shark was solid muscle any bigger and I would have needed help. Getting the shark to the water finally was gratifying. He had trouble at first so I moved him about to get some water in him and he recovered swimming back out into the Sea of Abaco. That’s how I became a shark wrangler and Poseidon’s left hand.
