A mysterious object falls from the sky in Maninjau, Agam, West Sumatra. Residents also had dihebohkan by the object. The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (Lapan) said it was part of a rocket and is a space junk.

"On July 18 I got a report and then I checked the data of space junk," said Lapan Agam Sirjon, Thursday (20/7/2017).

Sirjon explained that the object is part of China's rocket with the number CZ-3A. The rocket was used to launch the Beidoi M1 navigation satellite on April 13, 2007. The falling rocket portion is part of the fuel tank.

"Its initial altitude, this orbit is an ellipse, its altitude reaches 22 thousand km and its orbit is 200 km low.Because the atmospheric barriers during its orbit are, the longer the orbit is lower, when entering the atmosphere from a height of 120 km, the object can not continue orbit and fall," Thomas.

Then, how about the weight of the rocket that fell in Maninjau?

"The initial shape is from radar reflection before it falls, its diameter is 3 meters, then the height of 5 meters. When entering the atmosphere of 100 km altitude is broken into pieces. At the fall it is estimated the weight of objects about 7 pounds," said sirjon
