A Canadian homeowner got a shock recently while examining a tiny baby racoon which was wandering around his garden.

The man was filming the tiny ball of fur, which appeared to have been abandoned by its mother, when his dog ran over and snatched the cute creature.

Fortunately, the man later managed to wrest the raccoon from his dog's jaws and it was sent to a rehabilitation centre north of Toronto where it was said to be "doing great."

"I was not angry at my dog, more shocked because she really surprised me," he later wrote online.

This was the 3rd baby raccoon I had found that morning. The other 2 were dead, presumably killed by my dog who makes a brief appearance in the video. This raccoon was later sent to a wildlife rehabilitation centre north of Toronto and is doing great. I was not angry at my dog, more shocked because she really surprised me!
