Chinese firemen launched a daring rescue on Monday of a woman who was trapped clinging to a tree surrounded by raging floodwaters.

A video of the dramatic scene in Ganzhou City shows one fireman swimming across the floodwaters to the woman with the help of a rope.

Meanwhile, another fireman uses a mechanical digger to bridge the majority the gap between dry land and the tree to which the woman is clinging.

When the first firemen reaches the tree, he makes a human bridge with his back so that the woman can walk to the safety of the scoop of the digger.

According to local reports, the woman got into trouble when she attempted to cycle over a partially submerged bridge.

She was unharmed in the incident.
