While on Safari in Kruger Park South Africa, we came across this large female Elephant cow. She was standing right in the middle of the road, busy smashing a tree right next to the road. We had to stop and observe as this was going to take a while if we wanted to pass. She continued to push the tree around and then bit by bit pulled it out. She then threw all of it right into the middle of the road. She was purely after the nice soft and juicy root parts of the tree. In the end, this Elephant cow got her tasty snack and we had to reverse and take an alternative route. Wildlife always have right of way before anyone else in the Kruger. Having to turn around was just one of those things that is part of life in the bush and always a great experience
