How to FIX a Car Dent with Hot Water: Step-by-Step Directions
I had a pesky dent on my front car bumper that I finally couldn't ignore. Everyday I would have to look at it and it gave me such anxiety... The thing was I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money JUST to fix it! I know it costs these auto-shops ZERO dollars to do this.
After doing some research I found out a technique where you just pour hot water on the dent to pop it out. I spent about a year watching random videos of other people doing it, but they never showed much detail so I wasn't sure if it would work. That's when I decided to try it for myself and record it step-by-step, EVEN if it didn't work at the end (at least I would have some funny footage)... fortunately, this actually worked! Action cures fear as they say.
So I'll show you everything from the tools you'll need, what to do with the hot water, and how to get access to the bumper so you can push the dent out with minimal work. The most I paid was like $10 bucks for that ratchet. To put everything back in place such as the flap and screws, just go in reverse order. I felt it was pretty self explanatory so I didn't bother adding that part in. Oh, and WEAR CLOSE-TOED SHOES! There's nothing dumber than to burn your toes because of splashing hot water!
DISCLAIMER: Do this at your OWN RISK! I am showing you what worked for me and the steps I took. Results may vary.
