Asteroids "1 Ceres" and "4 Vesta" (the largest and brightest main-belt asteroids) have been drawing ever closer since the beginning of the year, and Slooh has been keeping a close eye on the pairing. On the 5th July 2014 (4th July in the USA), the pair make their closest approach to each other from Earth's viewpoint.
